No Helmet for Zeke

Zeke's six-month checkup went very well today. The best news is that he will not have to wear a helmet to correct a flat spot on the back right side of his head. Two months of looking left did the trick.

Zeke is following a growth pattern similar to Victor's. He weighs 15 pounds 12 ounces now, which means his weight has dropped from the 90th percentile at birth to just under the 25th percentile today. His height, now 27 3/4 inches, has held steady at the 90th percentil. His head is also and has always been in the 25th percentile.

Zeke is now able to roll front to back and back to front, and to roll from place to place to get things. He has also figured out how to use his legs to scoot himself forward on his tummy or back. He can pass an object from one hand to the other, which means each hand can open and close independently. He squeals and blows raspberries and giggles and even belly laughs, but I don't think he babbles yet. He smacks his lips when he eats, and when he's most sad he purses his lips and says "mmmmmmmmm."

Dr. Young says everything about Zeke looks terrific. He also says Victor should not grab syringes full of vaccine and squirt out the vaccine.

Of note, the new official word on peanuts is that children should not have them until age 2. Will I do that? We'll see. Peanut butter is convenient, if messy.

Careful with the peanut butter!!! Ya never know what will happen...Alex had an allergic reaction to it, plus our MD says it is a choking hazard because it is so gooey.
